Located on 717 acres, Cove Lake State Park is situated on the eastern edge of the Cumberland Mountains. The beautiful mountain settings provide plenty of outdoor activities that include biking, boating, 106 camp sites with grills, fishing, hiking trails, 6 large picnic facilities, indoor pavilion, restaurant and swimming. Other activities visitors can enjoy are badminton, shuffleboard, horseshoes, field games, volleyball, playgrounds, ping-pong, tennis, and many other activities including a paved walking and bicycling trail.
Hiking is a popular activity at Cove Lake State Park. Visitors enjoy an 11-mile section of the Cumberland Trail that connects to Cove Lake State Park with Tank Springs in LaFollette. The campground and swimming pool at the park are also accessible to persons with a disability.

Cove Lake is located in East Tennessee's Campbell County, 30 miles northwest of Knoxville, on U.S. 25W and I-75 between LaFollette and Lake City. From I-75, take Exit #134, travel 1/2 miles on Veterans Memorial Highway and take the first left turn.
