Chuck Swan WMA
The Chuck Swan Wildlife Management Area occupies 24,444 acres between the Powell and Clinch rivers on the east shores of Norris Lake. TWRA and the Tennessee division of Forestry (TDF) both manage the area. Big game in the area include whitetail deer and wild turkey. Chuck Swan is greatly used by bank fishermen due to easy access to the lake. The non-consumptive users such as hikers, ATV riders, mountain bike riders, horseback riders, wildlife photographers, and bird watchers also heavily utilize the area.

License Fees
The hunting and fishing licenses go on sale February 18 each year, the beginning of prime fishing, and are valid until the last day of February the following year. Seasons are subject to change. License fees are subject to change. Migratory bird seasons are determined by federal regulations. Wild Turkey at Chuck Swan WMA

Most licenses, except the Lifetime Sportsman License and specialty licenses, such as Wheelchair, Disabled Veteran, SSI (Supplemental Security Income), and Blind Fishing licenses, are available from most county clerks, sporting goods stores, hardware stores, boat docks and other interested merchants and from all TWRA offices. All license prices, except the Lifetime Sportsman include an agent's fee.

Fishing Information
Largemouth Bass on Norris LakeNorris Lake is excellent for fishing because of the clear deep water. Popular catches include Brown and Rainbow trout, Striper bass, small and largemouth bass, walleye, and plenty of crappie. Fishing guide services and licenses are available through many of the marinas.

Norris Lake offers a variety of local marinas throughout the lake. Many of the marinas offer launch ramps, slip rentals, fuel sales, boat and pontoon rentals, camping and fishing supplies.
