On June 28, 2007, Mayor Buck Wilson of Lake City and Bullock Smith & Partners unveiled plans for a Nationa Coal Miners' Museum at Coal Creek. The purpose of the museum is to celebrate mining history and preserve it for educating future generations. The museum will feature historical artifacts featuring the 1800s Coal Creek War, the Fraterville Mine Disaster and the Cross Mountain Mine Disaster.

Coming Soon! Expected completion date for the museum is early 2010.

Norris Lake offers a variety of local marinas throughout the lake. Many of the marinas offer launch ramps, slip rentals, fuel sales, boat and pontoon rentals, camping and fishing supplies. Recreational water equipment rental and purchase is also available through many of the marinas.
