Planning your trip to Norris Lake
It's alway a great idea to plan early! The last couple of years have been absolutely amazing! Heavy rainfall have keep water levels at or above the optimal water levels of 1,020 ft. Be sure to check out TVA's operating guide for Norris Lake for the latest water elevation levels. Compare the observed midnight elevations for last year and the current year to date. The information is updated every morning at 6 am. Also be sure to view the general water releases for Norris Lake.
Use caution when boating near Norris Lake Dam. Water releases often change without notice due to changes in weather.
From June 1 through Labor Day, elevations on Norris Lake are maintained as close to full pool of 1,020 ft to support recreation. Water elevations fall below the optimal water levels only when rainfall and runoff are insufficient to meet system flow requirements.
