Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency’s goal is to manage each species of fish with statewide creel and length limits where possible. However, many waters, because of their unique characteristics, require individual creel and length limits. These regulations improve fishing for all anglers especially for Norris Lake, Tennessee.

Smallmouth Bass 1-5* 18-20 inches  June 1-Oct 15: 1 per day, 20 inch min. Oct 16-May 31: 5 per day, 18 inch min.

Crappie (all species) 10 10 inches  
Striped Bass (Rockfish) or Cherokee Bass (Hybrid) 1-2* 15-36 inches April 1 - Oct 31: 2 per day, 15 inch min, Nov 1 - March 31: 1 per day, 36 inch min

Catfish (all species) No Limit* None* No harvest limit for fish under 34 inches in length may be harvested per day
Walleye 5* 15 inches  5 per day in combination, 15 inch min length limit (upstream to Grissom Island on Clinch River)

Paddlefish 2 None Season is open only from April 24th through May 31st. Culling Paddlefish is prohibited
